During a break-in the telephone lines may be cut by the offenders. A GSM System (Global System for Mobile communications) can be installed to duplicate the communication path to the control room via the digital network.
Auxiliary Communication System

These systems run side by side with an alarm control panel dialer and monitor the phone line the alarm is on. Some systems do not use a phone line at all so the auxiliary system is the primary communication path.
In the event of phone line failure, such as when an offender cuts the phone cable, the auxiliary communication system will offer the alarm panel an alternate path to send the alarm message to the control room via wireless communication. This can be GSM, GPRS, Internet or other wire less options (area dependant).
An auxiliary communication path is higher security as there can be up to four separate communication paths to the control room. Redundancy from one communication path to the other assures the alarm signal will get through.
The various auxiliary communication systems are graded into Class levels. The level is dependant upon the risk factor associated with the site and for insurance requirements.
There are numerous systems available on the market for country areas. Most telecommunication service providers are involved in one way or another so service in the area to be protected is required.
